How to Get Pixel 2’s Portrait Mode on Other Devices

How to Get Pixel 2’s Portrait Mode on Other Devices

In 2017, our flagship Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL suffered a lot from the first day, but nobody denied that the phone packed the best smartphone camera we had seen. It is unlikely that the entire technology area will be unanimous on a single topic. However, Google Pixel 2 achieved this rare achievement by being a top tech reviewer in 2017 as the best smartphone camera.

Update
I tried using Camera NX Mod on various devices. The application has been shown to work perfectly with OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T, Nokia 8, and the original Pixel and Pixel XL. But it did not work on Nexus 5X, Redmi Note 3, Mi A1, Samsung Galaxy S8, Moto G4, OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T

One of the great features of the Google Pixel 2 camera is that even with dual camera settings, you can take amazing portraits with a single camera if most flagship does not. Pixel 2 has complete camera hardware, but the success of the portrait mode feature is due to the excellence of Google software. Because portrait mode is software-enabled by default, there is always the possibility of being ported to another device even in a slim state.

Today, XD developer Charles Chow has found a way to use Google Pixel 2 portrait mode on other Google devices, including Pixel, Nexus 6P, and Nexus 5X. According to a blog post posted on the Chromloop website, Camera NX V7.3, a Google Camera mode, can turn off portrait mode on other Android devices.

Note
While the Google Camera mod that brings Portrait Mode on other devices is only said to be available for Nexus 5X, 6P and the original, we also tried it on our OnePlus 3 and it worked, so you can give it a try on other devices.

#1: Download the Camera NX V7.3 mod by clicking on the link. Open the APK on your smartphone and hit the install button to install the mod on your device. Also, grant any necessary permission as required by the app.

#2: Now launch the Camera NX app on your phone and tap the burger menu button in the top left corner. From here, press the "Portrait" button.

#4: Now hit a point to take a portrait shot on your device.

We tested app on the Nexus 5X, but we found that it did not work properly on Google devices at the time of publishing this article. This application continues to crash and does not respond to input. In other words, the same camera mode of the OnePlus 3 / 3T works perfectly. In other words, we may have a problem with our own handset. I have attached a sample picture taken with Modded Camera NX from OnePlus 3.
